Have you decided where you’ll be watching the solar eclipse? We thought we would join in on all the fun by explaining exactly what a solar eclipse is and a great place to watch it!
A total solar eclipse is when the moon completely covers the sun and its atmosphere. It will darken the skies around us. But don’t let the darkness fool you! You will definitely want to bring a pair of the proper solar viewing glasses to protect you from the sun. We might be a little biased, but you will definitely want to watch it from Yonder Field for the Solar Eclipse Festival in Bowman, SC on August 21! Bowman, SC is in the path of totality which extends from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina, so we can promise that you will have a great view!
The festival will be hosting The Great Inflatable Race, with talented musical guests such as Uncle Kracker, Edwin McCain, and Corey Smith. There will be much more including food, big competitions and prizes. They are also providing the option to camp overnight from Sunday, August 20 through Tuesday, August 22, so you can participate in all the fun! The Solar Eclipse will be visible starting at 2:30 pm on the day of the event.
